Heat Cut Border

The heat cut border is one of the most popular custom patch options available for embroidery. The heat cut technique allows you to create beautiful, detailed borders that can be used on any type of fabric or apparel.

You will find that this method of creating patches is perfect for those who want their patches to look like they were hand-cut from paper. It’s also an excellent option if you have a lot of complex designs with lots of detail.

This process involves cutting out the design using heat and pressure. This creates a crisp edge around each individual shape and gives it a professional appearance.

Merrow Border

The Merrow Border is available in two widths, 3/4" (19mm) and 1-1/2" (38mm). The 3/4" width is perfect for most standard patch sizes. The 1-1/2 inch width will work well with larger patches such as those found on backpacks or jackets.

This border is made from a single piece of leather which means it's easy to cut out any size you need. It has been hand finished by our craftsmen using a variety of techniques including burnishing, staining, waxing and oiling.

Embroidered Patches Backing Options

We provide a variety of backing for your patches, such as Iron-on backing, Plastic backing, Adhesive backing, Velcro backing, Paper backing, etc. If you are not sure what kind of backing you need, please let us know your patch usage, then we will give you the best Suggestion.

Iron On Backing

Iron-On Backing is the most often used backing material in our company's operations. It's just a thin film of glue that adheres to the fabric directly. The iron is pressed down firmly over the patched area once it has been sewed into place. As long as the glue is removed, the fabric will not require a second stage of removal.

Plastic Backing

The plastic backing is another great choice. It's similar to the iron-on backing but slightly more durable because it's thicker. It's also easier to apply than the iron-on backing since there is less chance of getting trapped under the iron when applying the patch.

Adhesive Backing

The adhesive backing is the least expensive option. Because it doesn't require heat or steam to adhere to the fabric, it's ideal for use with low-temperature fabrics such as cotton. However, it does require some skill to properly apply.

Velcro Backing

Velcro backing is the easiest way to attach a patch to your garment. Simply press the hook part of the  velcro through the fabric and pull it tight so that it sticks. Then simply peel off the backing sheet and stick the patch to your garment.

Paper Backing

For those who prefer to keep things simple, we offer paper backing. Simply remove the backing paper from the patch before sewing it to your garment.

Please note that the paper backing cannot be applied to garments that contain metal zippers.

If you choose to use the paper backing, we recommend using a double layer of paper to ensure a strong bond between the patch and the garment. You can purchase the paper backing at our store.
